The funds lost are minor, but the damage to trust within the s2ki community is deep. If someone did this in SoCal, we'd shun them until they made right.

I'd give him a bit more than 12 minutes to make amends.

Though his reply is pretty shitty.

Its munchies like this that makes me very wary of dealing with people i don't know. It not only makes the midwest look bad but makes him a giant tool bag. I guess my advice is to only buy local and don't trust people that you've never met before.

sorry about that buddy. Sh1t like this happens everyday and its really sad to see it hit so close to home.

good luck with everything.

This guy never even posts in the UMW forum.
Whats even worse is that he has a hotmail address, I never ever trust that.

If you paypal'd start a dispute over that item.
Don't plan on getting your money back, just get him to respond the case, and get him to admit he shipped them without padding.

If that happens you will get your money back.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! It is great that our s2ki bond spans geography.

> I'd give him a bit more than 12 minutes to make amends.

Arg, I shoulda put the dates/times on the PMs - this spanned over several days, and ready his last reply I pretty much figured it was done.

> It not only makes the midwest look bad but makes him a giant tool bag.

I agree with you half-way - there are scammers everywhere so it doesn't reflect on anyone else - and I think your kind responses make the midwest look good. The other half of your statement .

> file a claim against USPS insurance ASAP man...

Wish I could - no padding=no insurance

> This guy never even posts in the UMW forum.

I followed a post of his here, so I thought he was in the area. I guess the locals know where not to buy know

Anyhow, thanks again for the kind words and support, if any of you get out to SoCal and want an s2kTour drop me a PM I'd be glad to oblige! And of course if you ever get a SoCal scammer - I've got your back.

Sorry to hear oatnet and I know exactly how you feel cause I think I just lost $125 on ebay. I bought a part for my bike and the description said in perfect condition w/ no scratches or scuffs and the guy sent me a part that's in worse shape than the one I'm trying to replace. He posted pictures of a good part and sent me a different one. I'm so mad I want to fly out to Texas just to get the guy, but I'm trying to keep my cool and I'm going to try and get this situation taken care of. This guy had all positive feedback and this was my first time ever buying anything off of ebay. I wish I could help you out oatnet, but I've never met this guy before. I hope he gets back to you and takes care of the problem.
