She's Back
My S is Happy again, Me Too
This may be the only S to survive a roll over without Major Damage.

She still feels like new, and she didn't even need an alignment.

Black Ice and the S don't mix well at all.
Last December I was Driving my son to work at about 10:30pm when we encountered some Black Ice on 131 just before Schoolcraft. The roads up to that point were clear and Dry.
Schoolcraft is known as a speed trap area, So as aways I keep a close eye on my speed in that area. had my car slowed down to 45mph by the time we were at the 45mph sign. Noticed the light was turning red so I tried to slow down, and before you know it we were on top of Black Ice going Sideways. Tried to make a correction to get her straight and hit a very small dry spot. The S hooked up for tenth of a second and whipped us around in the other direction and had us heading for the center median at about 40mph.
The center median at that spot looks more like a snow boarders mini Half Pipe. As soon as I saw us heading for the mini half pipe I Said "
, hang on and DUCK!!!!! I knew that sucker (median) was going to flip us over, and it did
. Seemed like time slowed down, and we rolled over onto the convertible top and slid for about 40 feet. Felt like we were in a Jamaican Bobsled running thru the half pipe upsidedown . Snow and grass running up the windshield was all I could see out the windshield as we are sliding down the Bobsled run Up Side Down.
As soon as we came to a stop I shut the engine and stereo off and there was total silence, except for the creaking and crushing sound of the top coming down on us. My son and I looked at each other and we both said "are you alright". Then we both replied "Yea" then I said "we need to get out of here NOW"! My side of the car and the windshield were up against the side of the half pipe. My sons side had a small opening thru the broken passenger door glass. He dug thru the snow a little to get us out. This all took about 45 seconds to release the seat belts and dig our way out.
Wow what a ride, my son and I were shook up a little, but OK. We both had a small bump on our heads, and thank God that's all we had. My pride was hurt a little, but there was nothing more I could have done on top of the dam Black Ice.
Don't understand why in the world Schoolcraft didn't drop salt in that area
. The rest of 131 up to that point was dry from salt laid down through out the day. You need to stop for the light in that area. The area where I live hits all the intersection with salt as soon as they can to make sure they are safe for cars to stop. About 30 minutes later a salt truck hit that area just before the traffic light, Yea 30 minutes too Fricken Late.
To make matters worse, my better half screw up on our insurance and the insurance claim was denied. So I have been bustin my azz at work to make some extra cash to buy the parts needed to put my S back together. Kim also found a job to help out with the bills.
