My point exactly.
2 plugs in two different cylinders had detonation damage. I dunno if they were a different heat range or what. I dunno.
One plug lost the entire electrode and the grounding point was gone too.
The other plug was in better shape. A little bit of the electrode melted off but very minor.
Honda is making it seem like they will cover it. One dealer said NO and the other is working on getting it covered.
I hate this waiting game.

A. Wrong size plug was purchased
B. Defective product
C. Improper Install
D. Other contributing factor i.e. overrev etc..
I do not blame Hondacare for not paying this. You have not been able to demonstrate that Hondas product in some way caused the damage. For a warranty to cover a product, that product must be defective. You should pursue Densos warranty, not Hondacare. Just my $.02.

HUH!?! So by your logic, a supercharger is an aftermarket item. Therefore if I blow my engine because I overboosted or whatever my "aftermarket" warranty should cover it. Uhhhh, good luck with that one Brad
you are preachin to the pastor here man. Have you seen that windy city forum, . . .
I was replying to the post above the one I posted.
I dont feel that hondacare should not cover something because it isnt a 'honda' part. Thats not thier business, hondacare has a very mild link with honda marketing. They arent even in the same building.
I used the word aftermarket to describe the warranty, not the parts.
keep in mind also that I was being optimistic.
and also that if this was a friggin crv or a passport they probably would have already replaced whatever was broken, because of the nature of our cars we are the black sheep of hondacare warranty recipients.

maybe you should bring up what Kamron said (about the only useful post) about the fact that in the OEM manual Denso is listed as an OEM replacement plug, thus does not void the warranty. I would have loved to bring that into the face of the guy that said that his reason for voiding the warranty was because of a Denso plug (unless he said it was not the direct replacement plug).
Plus, the burden is on them because they didn't check the plugs when you bought the car, so they are at fault for not checking the car over. How is that going?
