Definitely agree with you there.
drinking bottled water instead of tap water is bad for the environmnet.
eating bananas grown in ecuador instead of the US is bad for the environment.
eating strawyberries grown in California instead of IL is bad for the environment.
driving your S2K instead of a toyota camry (ULEV) is bad for the environment.
driving your S2K instead of a Civic Hybrid is also bad for the environment.

as a republican i can say this: the environment can blow me. there are 20,000 steamship containers coming into the port of long beach every month. if you bought 1 less pair of Chinese made shoes/shirt/toys/carparts/furniture a month, you'd save more diesel boat fuel/emissions than leaving your catalytic converter on all year. YMMV.

sounds logical. If the problem is in your control, then every bit helps. That's all I'm saying.

Even cow flatulence is bad for the environment, but is that going to stop all the tree huggers who are non-veg?

This can go on and on.

I've never been much of a tree hugger, actually I used to make fun of tree huggers and "bunny" lovers but I ran across something interesting on google video about Al Gore and the movie "Inconvienent Truth".... interesting stuff (see link). It kinda makes me think twice about getting a TP. That doesn't mean that I'm definately not going to get a TP, but it's very interesting stuff.

Amul....not to be argumentative, only to keep a discussion going, isn't in your control to have an ULEV car (like the Civic) rather than an LEV car (like the S2000)? Hell, why not go electric vehicle or even natural gas car...

Wait, why not just bike to work and run errands? Every bit helps, right?

The premise is that all this is your control, however, you are balancing the joys in your life (your "wants") with whatever parameters you want to live within.

If you just "tested" using a straight-pipe on your car, you may find that the "want" of keeping it may end up expanding the parameters you live within.
