thoughts on tires
hey i just put on the dirreza Z1 star spec in this same size on my S. I love them. They ride so smooth with my stance coilovers and grip like no ones business. they are at a great price to from tire rack. i would not go with any other tire. great as a daily and great for an autocross too.

Falken RT615's, try them!

I LOVED them on my car. You didn't list the wheels you're using. But I'm guessing you are running 17" wheels. They don't make the RT615's in 16" sizes for the S2000.
They didn't last more than 4-5,000mi, but they were VERY sticky with great feedback.

Nick - the latest issue of Grassroots Motorsports did a comparison test of the RT615, Dunlop Direzza Star Spec, Bridgestone RE11, Kumho XS, and I think another tire...Toyo R1R maybe. The Kumho's won the test and that's what I'll be going with next.
Pick up the magazine for the full review. There are a few caveats to the review - for example they weren't able to get all on the same size (tested on a autox civic. some of the tires including the direzza's were 195's and some of the tires like the Kumho's were 205's) and they didn't take into account wear, noise, etc.
I'd say get the Kumho's. A month ago I would have recommended the direzza's since they are cheaper than the RE11's, but now I'm recommending the Kumho's since they are cheaper than the direzza's.
From what I hear, the Sumitomo's aren't in the same league, although very good for what they are. They'll be fine on the street, but you'll want the better compound on the track/parking lot.
