Default Ticket worth fighting?

So on the way to Superdawg I turned right on red because there was no signal and the lane perpendicular were turning left.

I'm coming to a red light on Milwaukee and Dundee. Cars were turning left so i decided to go before the other cars went and didn't stop. Am I in fault there?

Maybe worth getting it reduced to a non-moving and just pay for the class and court costs.

Let's see, you approached a red and only yielded before making a right. On a red (with no right turn green), you have to come to a complete stop...now if you had a green right turn arrow, then it's a different story.

bummer thanks for the quick reply. From what I understand because I reside in Virginia they are not putting points on my record just want my money.

Unless something has changed recently, we don't do points in IL.

ah I see. Well it's just 100 bucks and the sheet of paper they mailed said pay and that's that. Is it usually different? I was caught on camera and they even showed me a video online.

Oh...if it's a red light camera, then just pay it. It won't go to your insurance.

Illinois - red light - $100 or the completion of a traffic education program, or both; not a moving violation or record offense
