It's hard to do a write up on this....you're better off looking for a write up in the "Under the Hood" section of the site.

If you're interested in getting a hand locally, then there are a few of us that have done a soft top swap here in the Chicago area.

I'm one of them.

You're going to need a bit longer than a regular tech day for this. I suggest just having a one-on-one type of a day....especially if you're replacing the soft top on the frame.

If you're swapping out a soft top/frame assembly for another, that'd be easiest.

Where are you located...if you're in Chicago-area, I've done this before and give you a hand.

Where's the friend's garage? If it's not far, and your friend is up for hosting a small meet, this can be done in 4 or 5 hours....removing two tops, and swapping the good one onto your car.

I can help...but only on Saturday or Sunday. If your friend can hold the insurance company off a couple more days, it'd be great.

If he needs advice on how to handle the ins. company, drop me a PM and I'll talk either you or he through it. I have extensive knowledge on how claims are processed.
