UMW CO Nomination Thread
Wow, i want to thanx those that nominated me and i do understand the time and effort that needs to be put into a position like this, so for that matter alone I CAN NOT ACCEPT this at this time, my work is always haywire during the summer and my weekends are usually for my traveling. But thanx for the nomination!
I will still do my part to set up some meets here sooon though!
Thank You

I would say the same for Indiana too (more events).
Unfortunately, there seem to be so few of us Hoosiers on this site.

I don't really know any of those nominated thus far, so I'd love to hear some reasons as to why they think they'd do well and why others think they would fill the position successfully.
I do think a Michigan CO would be cool b/c OH does really well already in terms of events, etc. and a lot of Hoosiers go to those events or know the OH folks well socially, but I don't really know any MI folks and since I'm from Canada and drive through MI regularly and know that it is fairly easy to navigate, think a CO based out of mid-southern MI would be a great idea.
Just my $0.02

When the phone rings at 3am...

You can always count on Sam...
To All, especially LESISMOR since you asked directly:
First off, I wasn't sure if I was actually allowed to respond to the request above in here, but I certainly will, especially after seeing Pete's response.
Pete and Urmil have both asked for another CO, specifically from the Michigan area to get this side of the pond more active. The general consensus is that the UMW is mainly focused on Chicago & Wisconsin, which to be honest, it does feel that way sometimes, but only because of the population of owners and former owners of S2000's in that area.
Since joining S2Ki 3 years ago, I have attended as many meets as possible in order to meet fellow owners and enthusiasts and I have absolutely no regrets in the hundreds (possibly thousands) of miles I have driven in doing so.
I always made the assumption that in order to set up meets, group drives etc. you needed to be a CO to do so, I was mistaken, anyone can do these things and so I have not done these things previously, this will change whether I am CO or not.
To me, a CO should be someone who is very active on the boards, and especially in their local forum (whoring or not) to show their dedication to the members and the forum itself, which I believe I am. I would also like to think I am a really nice guy and easy to get along with, not sure if that matters, but I do think it's an important trait when representing the S2Ki community.
I certainly don't know Indiana very well, but I do know Michigan and will make a point of setting up meets and events where the current members are in the area, whether that means me driving an hour or so just to do so.
If anyone has any questions or comments, let me know. I will be here and active whether CO or not.

I know it's just having fun, but please let's just keep this thread being directed as a nomination thread.
Thanks.
BTW, 'thread buzz-kill' is one of the CO tasks that the next CO will have to deal with.
