Upgrading Diff options....
If for some reason I can not persuade the dealer, honda/hondacare to fix my diff, i refuse to pay honda or the dealership to fix it. I will give them no more money ever. So I will try to find an upgrade of some sort and have an independent shop do it. Any ideas. I am totally clueless so Urmil I think I will have to call you soon. You should probably start charging me consulting fees for S2000 advice. lol
I would actually call P and L motorsport and ask for Pinyo, he did my diff twice, including 4.57 install, which came out well, and 4 or 5 other diffs(or propably more), now Pinyo is upgrading to skyline diff on his s2000, so he is propably the person to go when it comes to diffs.
Other then that, P&L is very reputable shop, and they do quality work.
BTW. I blew my diff, 4 times(lol), so here are Your options:
1. Get a same diff that You have now, and be worried that same thing might happen.
2. Get a 04-06 diff which is stronger(I had it and I didnt blew it)
3. Get either of the above reinforced by comptech.
4. Get a skyline conversion kit, that will hold numerous repetitive 9k launches.
Price vary from(depending what You blew) around $800 to $4000, at least thats how much it was when I was looking at it.

holy crap. you guys have me completely freaked out. here i was considering the 04 to 03 clutch slave swap because my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts at redline are slipping, but day-em!
what's the story? honda didnt build the diff up enough because they wanted to save weight?

Redline upshifts are not going to blow your diff, especially if you feather the clutch at ALL.
7k+ clutch drops from 0mph are what is going to break things.
Or supercharging, lowering AND putting 20,000 TRACK miles on the car with race rubber and 1.0g+ side loads.
Do the cluch slave cylindar.

I would still try and persue getting this fixed through the Certified warranty depending on the coverage and verbage they offer on it.
As for going the Skyline rear route for Boyracer's car, I doubt he cares too much to make the car bullet-proof for streetuse. He has a Porsche Club racer for his speeding jollies.
There are a few options of what you would want to do depending on what is damaged in your casing. If the dealership has already broken down the rear, it'd be easy to check out everything....in fact, if you've paid for the tear down, they should be telling you exactly what's wrong with the rear and what needs to be replaced.
My suggestion to you would be to use the shop that you use to build your Porsche to rebuild the rear. You'll probably get a GREAT rate (if not free labor), will probably get a close-to wholesale price on parts through them, and already have a lengthy history with them.
This is not to suggest that P&L or Pinyo can't do the work, or will do lower quality work.
Anyway, I'll give you a call later in the day.

yea ill have to say this spend one time to get the skyline diff where its unbreakable up to 1000whp wow i mean the cost is going to be there but hey dont ever have to worry bout blowin another diff... pinyo gave me the idea so yea maybe summer imma go witht the skyline diff....
I hope you didn't mis-read what I wrote to suggest that I think Pinyo's knowledge and experience is lackluster, I don't.
As an FYI, Pinyo has worked on both my S2000 and my Integra, so I am quite familiar of how much he knows Honda cars.

I read that as Boyracer MIGHT get a better deal at a shop where he already has connections (the Porsche Shop.)
It is still worth a call to P&L for a bear that out though. There is a value to having someone very familiar with the car work on it.
