With the stock SO2 tyres and 240 bhp going to the rear wheels, the car is lethal in the snow. That said many owners for whom it is the only car, get around the problem by running grippier tyres or having a different set of wheels with snow tyres fitted for winter use. You poor kid having to make do with an Integra!

Totally agree on the Integra thing. What a shameful car. The ice and snow can be lethal. We just got ice here the other day and I had to go 10mph to make sure I didn't fishtail. It's still a wonderful car. Texas doesn't get ice or snow very often therefore it is ideal here but I am from Illinois originally

I'll let you know what winter driving is like if it ever freakin' snows! I had a mustang v8 on gatorbacks during two winters, this car on snow tires is bound to be better than that.

I just picked up rubber mats, snow tires, a set of scratched rims (for race tires too). If it snows really bad I simply wont drive.

Whadup...I got my S2K this past summer after graduating from school and can't imagine driving my beauty in the winter. It's at home in the garage under a cover, and in order for me to do this I had to go out and buy a Ford Focus. It's a red ZX3 hatchback. (Watch out ladies!!!) It ain't the coolest thing in the world, but it gets me where I need to go and takes all the punishment that I wouldn't dream of putting my S2K through. If you're gonna get one of these, in my opinion, you really need a 2nd car. I plan on hanging onto mine for a long long time and in order to keep it in tip top shape, the Ford Focus was the best answer...

Amen!

For those of you brave ( or slightly insane ) enough to drive'em in the winter good luck. Mine is in the garage all ready to go for spring; under a cover and winterized.

Phantom3jt,

Most of us had more dreams than money at your age... The S2000 is a very expensive toy to have sitting idle from December thru March. Both your car payments and car insurance will probably be high. On the other hand, a person needs a very dependable car in the Chicago winters and I'm we those that say the S2000 is not the car for that. A 1996 Integra should be in excellent shape even in ten years if you take care of it. You should be ok if you can afford the up-keep of two vehicles (plates, maintenance, etc.) when the time comes.
