where can i get....
Marksound in Schaumburg on Roselle Rd, between Schaumburg and Weathersfield.
Talk to Mark. He is a friend of a friend and is very careful with his work.
I wanted a Compustar two-way pager alarm for my car and I had it done at Excel Audio in Arlington Heights. Rand Rd. North of Dundee about 3 miles on the left side in a strip mall.

Any word on what average cost for a Compustar is without remote start? Do you think that a GB could be set up....if the price is right, I'd be in for two alarm installs.
Here is the shop that did the install:
http://www.excelaudio.com/main.htm
Excel Audio
847-705-9100
This was the closest CompuStar dealer I could find.
They charged me $550 +/- $50 two years ago (I don't remember the exact price.) Mine is the two-way spread spectrum NON-remote start unit. The proximity sensor is more, but was included in that price.
The install took literly ALL day. They seemed pretty willing to work with me when it came to cost. I think the unit itself retails for $500 and the prox for $75. You might also mention some of your audio plans. They may be able to help, and that too may affect pricing.
I doubt they would remember me so mentioning my name won't help you out. However, if you get several people interested I'd bet he would cut you a deal. I am not planning an alarm for the 'vette and I am going to be selling the Trans Am soon so I'm out for a GB.
If you want to check out the alarm in detail, or their work let me know. The car is still in storage, and the battery is out. However, that should change in the next 3-4 weeks.

you do know that the S already has an electronic (ignition) immobilizer built in right?
I know its not an alarm - but a regular key wont start the car - it has to have the immobilizer chip in it.
small consolation....its something at least.
