Default Winning Noise comming from the drivetrain

Most of you all Know I drive my car a Little on the Hard Side all of the time.

My S has just hit 38,000 miles and has never really given me a problem untill yesterday. My Son and I Changed the Front Brakes, Flushed/Bleed the Brakes and Clutch Three days ago ( dot3 fluid out, New dot 4 fluid in).

I noticed a High Pitched Winning Noise comming from the center or rear of my S yesterday. The Noise will Not change when applying the brakes or taking the car out of gear while rolling.

The Pitch and sound volume of the Winning will change if I swerve the car from side to side.

My Trans and Diff Fluids are changed every 9,000 miles, so I reall don't think the noise is comming from either of them. I also don't think the Brake and Clutch Flushing has any thing to do with the noise also.

I have a clue what this problem may be, but I wanted too hear if any else has had the same problem, and what it was.

My S is still under aftermarket (not HondaCare) Warranty and I'll call Honda Monday to set up an appointment.

Any Clues ???

Loose nut behind the wheel?

Actually, I am guessing a problem with your diff. Fluid changes will not protect the diff from hard launches and full throttle drifts.

I Left it wide open for the Loose Nut.

The noise does not change when I play with the gas pedal, only with movement from side to side.

I really don't think it's the Diff, but I could be wrong.

I though I was wrong once, but i was mistaken.

my tranny while whine sometimes, especially when cold. Even fresh fluid, and it still made noise. It's just a fun part of owning a car with the transmission mostly next to you. When you take it out of gear, the output shaft is still spinning (being that it is connected to the driveshaft and axles), so it'll make noise out of gear as well. I beat the hell out of my car, and no problems yet, not even any grinds. (knock on wood). I have 87K.

All in all, don't worry.

This is a New, Pretty Loud Whinning Noise, and not the normal tranny whine.

I Run my S at triple Digits a lot and really don't want Problems at that speed. My Ears tell me there's Something wrong and Should be fixed before I can have anymore Fun.

Better Safe than Sorry

Thanks for your replie anyways.

That's what I'm thinking too

The side to side motion changes the pitch and winning sound level, and It only wines when everthing is hot.

Check for play by shaking the rear wheels side to side.

That's my plan, as soon as I wake up all they way.

hmmm, when my wheel bearings went bad (I've been through three) it was always more of a grinding noise, and more pronounce when it was cold. But it did change pitch and tone when turning. I might be able to stop this week and check it out if you'd like.
