WMHM
I signed up.. on the waiting list. I've got some Auto-X experience but this will be my first track event, assuming that a slot opens up for me. Would I still be considered to be beginner level? Hope to see you guys there.
Wrote this for last years WMHM thread:
It's really up to you - which can be really difficult. After 2 events, I would still put myself in beginner - but I'm a really slow learner and sucked hard when I first started.
Here's my guess to a general rule of thumb -
Beginner group - most likely a mix of complete newbs (no track time, no autocross) and those that have a little experience but are still finding their groove.
Intermediate I - probably those that know they're faster than the complete newbs and will be all day.
Intermediate II - probably those who could be in advanced but either have a slow car, or get intimidated by slowing someone down.
Advanced I - probably those that know Gingerman well and have done this enough times to really know and push themselves.
Advanced II - probably people who could instruct, but would rather just enjoy the day driving.
In general, you'll want to put yourself where you're going to go fast enough to have fun, but not slow enough to really slow others down. You can always move up or down a class if there's room and you think you need to. However, with as full as this event is getting, I don't know how well moving up/down will be.

If I make it and we go out to eat and drink beer, I'm sleeping in Phill's car.
Of course, it will stink so bad on the next day that nobody will want to drive it but that keeps my car in socially acceptable shape.

I just ordered my next mod the Ozonizer from Ron Popeil. This unit promises a 10 hp gain at the seat along with providing a fresh interior enviroment. But please no Saltines.
Ok, so now that there are 80 people registered how does it work as far as the waiting list? How long do you have to wait to find out if you can buy a spot? I'm pretty interested in going but now that there are 80 registered im not sure how it would work.
I could put down some guesses, but it might be best just to contact the organizers. If you don't hear from them via email, you might want to check out the threads on Honda-tech or ef-honda. I think the organizers hang out there.
