Any new thread selling items locally will be merged into the monthly for sale thread; if you're spamming the forum with links elsewhere it's going to be deleted.

(the Jahnke rule) The exception will be if you're parting out an extensively modified car (i.e. Charlie, Urmil, Oddy). A thread devoted to this is acceptable.
Could really go either way here. You are parting out your car which isn't AS modified as some, but much MORE modified than others.

Yeah, reading the FS thread is now WAY confusing with it all jumbled together.

THAGR81's thread is still there.

There isn't that much activity in the UMW forum either way, so it does get confusing at times.

I'm not the one that did it, but I did check up on your thread Donnie. You had wheels and tires, lots of them. You also hadn't posted up the other stuff that you wrote that you had for sale soon....

I could have swung either way on it.

==================================================
Thagr's thread stayed because he's parting out a whole lot out of his car, kinda like Harry's thread about parting Rosie.
==================================================

Ahad, again, I wasn't the one to move your thread, but it did belong in the Jan. for sale thread. The place is getting worse because policies to maintain an orderly forum are being enforced....

==================================================

For the most part, when WestSideBilly or I move threads, we pm the original poster and/or write a description in the thread.

He had also posted the header, vafc, and stock suspension parts for sale at the same time. With a promise of more to come.

I would think a high-dollar item like a whole car would get it's own thread for negotication and clarification of condition, etc. It always has in the past.

I don't think the orginization is a problem, but OVER application of it can be. Especialy when things are not done consistently. Some threads moved to WC, some stay in UMW. Some get merged, some don't. It is definatly a judgement call, and I admit you can't please all of the people all of the time. I know the job is hard.

In this case, I believe it was an over aggressive thread consolidation to combine Donnie and Ahad's threads into the general FS thread.

The big threads are typically left alone because of the discussion/negotiation/etc. that comes with these types of for sale thread (that's why I was either way on Donnie's thread before he posted the other stuff. Now with the other stuff posted, I do think it should have its own post. If he were to start another thread, I, for sure, would not move it...unless it got whored to no complaint by the original poster).

The small stuff, or single item for sale threads are managed into the monthly 4 sale thread because of not having to deal with the ritualistic "B-U-M-P" posts that come from either the original poster and/or friends. It tends to start cluttering the board. If one or two get by, it's by mistake. If more come up and it becomes a pattern, it becomes a hassle.

We will start seeing more activity on the forum once Spring gets close, so right now it does seem to be "over-management", however, if we do it then, we may as well do it now.

...Now it's off to clean up the off-topic commentary from the Jan FS. thread.

Sheesh.

In case you hadn't noticed the board hasn't exactly been running great today. I tried to clean up (i.e. merge) all the FS threads and the board bounced most of them. After the the fourth or fifth try I got pissed and gave up. I don't see any FS threads left now, so I'm not sure which you were referring to.

Donnie, I left your part out thread for a while. If you have a problem PM me. There was a post in the re-thread which I shitcanned.
