Also, as an FYI, if you guys are going to be shitheads about stuff like this I'll start enforcing the site rule about no guests selling anything.

And yes, I'm in a bad mood!

So did my Accord for sale thread. This place is just getting worse.
You're not paying anything for advertising your car. What, exactly, are you bitching about? And what is 'getting worse' ?

I will admit that when I was merging everything I didn't realize how far apart the replies were, so yes it does look like a clusterfuvk in the FS thread. I apologize for that.

WSB,

Seeing that I just got a PM from HondaGal about complaints that I'm deleting many threads, I'm a bit up in arms right now too. For those of you that are complaining, your threads are in the Dumpster, not deleted.

They are there because they didn't belong in the threads that you posted them in. With this being the case, I think I want to be more of a stickler about enforcing the rules be it site rules, or community policy.

As for asking if the issue is pandemic across the board, frankly, I don't care. My goal is to keep the peace, keep owners actively posting, keep UMW content S2000, and S2000 activity focused, and keep a sense of community.

I've gotten a few complaints from people participating in the Windy City forum as well. I've suggested to those people that the Windy-City has more an no-holds-barred approach, but that may have to change as well. The sub-forum isn't and wasn't meant for just a select few people to use. It's a sub-forum for all to use and be included for all non-S2000 centered topics. I'll suggest some new policies to WSB and I guess we'll go from there.

Well, you unilaterly deciding what is/or is not appropriate in a particular topic, and more actively so, should DEFINATLY cause fewer complaints.

What is going on here? Did someone hide your guys' Midol this month?

Donnie was frustrated because of an issue with his other for sale thread, then this one get's merged with no comments. He was upset and concerned (I would have been too.) Ahad's thread got shuffled into the F/S thread. Jeff, you took the time to apologize for the way it was handled and explan how, but not for some 12 hrs. I could see where he was confused and upset too.

I thought this was a public board where people were allowed to post up what THEY feel is relevent to a topic. If that is not the case, then Urmil, you should just make a static website for people to read and never reply to.

No...nothing done is by unilateral decision. It's done by the guidelines of rules and policies of the board and the regional communities. If a thread is pruned, or a post is moved, it's because the content is either offensive, out of line, and/or out of topic.

As for people allowed to post up what they feel regarding a topic of posts, you're old enough to know that what sometimes people feel is appropriate, could really be offensive.
My only point is that this is still a judgement call. There will obvously be black and white situations, but there is an AWEFUL lot of grey too. It's the grey where the trouble starts.

Overall, both Donnie and Ahad got answers to their confusion.

Donnie did start his new thread.

No sense in beating a dead horse.

Are there any specifics or just whining? I've only moved 2 threads since being CO (what, a year ago?) and both were duplicate threads.

Anyone want to place bets on how many tries it will take before the merge function to work today?

Guess higher than 3...
