Default Aftermarket hardtop.

Does anybody in the Salt Lake area have an aftermarket top? I bought a carbon fiber top from forbidden-usa, and it creeks way beyond loud. I was just hoping somebody had a few tricks that they've tried. So far I've tried adjusting it, and shin etsu grease. If I can't get it to quiet up, I'm literally going to have to sell the car. HELP!!!

i have one. the fitment isn't horrible but you can never beat OEM. if you have creaks its possible that the seals that were provided aren't enough to create a good seal for the hard top. the creaking might be from when you hit a bump and the top wants to move around because it's not a 100% seal. mine still creaks but I don't drive the car a whole lot so I don't really care. I got mine for its function, the aero to the wing that i have.

Mann I was looking to buy one of those. Are they all creaky or is it just the carbon fiber ones? OEM ones are hard to find and pretty expensive when you do find it.

robby, didn't you initially have an OEM hardtop? Why'd you sell if you were just going to get an aftermarket one?

I did have to OEM hardtop, and it was also loud. I've gotten my new top to quotes down a lot. I've had to use two seals in order to make it that way. From what I've found, they're both just a pain to get in the right spot. I have no intention of ever taking mine off again. Now I just need to get a new exhaust that's now so loud.

I see. I've had to make only some minor adjustments here and there on my OEM hardtop, nice and quiet now.
