Default Alignment

Just wanted to let everyone know that Firestone is running a special on their lifetime alignment for $120. They use a Hunter machine at the store across the street from Fashion Place. The tech to ask for is Butch. He is very good and patient at dialing in what settings you want to use. I've had him use the UK settings and the car seems to handle very well.

Good to know, I'm about to get an alignment for the suby and might just go with this.

I've had two alignments done already, so at least I've got my money back for the lifetime price. Any more alignments will be gravy.

yeah I ended up taking my 4WS Prelude to that one across from Fashion Place mall - they were the only shop with enough brain to correctly to a 4WS alignment, and are the only shop I'll take my cars to now.

After talking to 3 Goodyears, a Big-O, and 2 other Firestones that were jerkin me around, that one patiently listened to my request, and even let me hang out in the shop and watch them do the alignment (I know how to do it, just haven't got the space or money to buy a machine hehe)

I used to recomend Firestone. Unfortunately, they changed their policy a couple of years ago and will now ONLY do alignments to their "factory" specs. They may have changed the policy again, but be warned they'll change it any time they feel like it.
That's what they told me at 3300S 900E: Every 6 months or 6000 miles they'll set your alignment to what you want within factory specs for as long as you own the car.

My car is new and I DD it to work and such, so I'm using the OEM alignment. I'll get my money's worth over a few years.

If I want something else though, I'll be on my way to fashion place and hope it works. Even if it doesn't, I'll pay to get an auto-x/whatever alignment and then in a few months have Firestone reset it for the winter for free.
