Holes in the top
I seem to recall reading a thread a while back about the conversion - it is pretty straightforward, so I fail to see why they would not get you the glass top. Reid (sp?) is a pretty cool guy (the service mgr), so he should help you out, if he's able. Let us know how it goes!
Well since Honda is paying for it I can only assume that they want to put in whatever came with the car. And the dealer doesn't have a problem with it, it's just that they have to show proof of what they order for a 2000 and the part # is different for the glass...I'd obviously prefer the glass, but at least Honda has treated me better than a lot of other people on this board. And I am out of warranty (although I do have the HondaCare 7yr/100k warranty). Certainly I can't be mad about a new top no matter what it is...right? I'll keep you guys updated...
Not yet...the dealer is trying to convince Honda to give me a top with the glass window, then I still have to wait for all the parts to come in. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about this.
Did anyone else call Honda C.S. that has the holes?

Well, here's the latest and greatest. I called my service manager and apparently the parts guy forgot to order my top. So, he says he'll order it again and it'll be there in a couple days. That's the good news.
Now the bad news...Well, I had volunteered to pay the difference for the glass top and they were OK with that, but he wanted to check with Honda to make sure. They told him it folded different because the frame is different, which I already told him about and wasn't an issue, and there is an issue with the defroster. So, Honda won't let the dealer put a glass top on a 2000/1 because of safety issues with the different frame and syas I have the potential to sue Honda of something happened. And according to Honda, there is a law that says if you have a rear defroster it has to be operational...at least when it leaves the dealer. So, not only would I have to pay the difference in tops, but also the price of a new frame and the rear defroster plus installation. That would have come out to about $2k out of pocket...so needless to say I'm getting the plastic top.
And here's more bad news...Since I was the first here to complain about the top and I told you guys about it the Honda CS is changing my replacement from a defect to warranty work(I have the Honda Care Warranty). Now they are going to say that since multiple people are having the problem then it is just normal wear and tear. If 1 person has it it's a defect, but more than 1 is normal wear and tear?...I don't get it. I guess someone else that has 20k miles on their car came in (was that anyone here?) with the same wear spots and that has prompted them to change it. I guess they see a potential for lots of money to be lost if they change all our tops...just my guess anyways. So, if you're out of warranty you're probably not going to get a top now. At least that's the impression I got from my dealer.
If you have any questions just let me know...

FINALLY...I got the top replaced. They managed to do it all in 2 days, so that wasn't too bad. But now there are two things that don't work anymore...the 12v power outlet, which I assume was just not plugged in, and the recirculate vent. Not sure how that happened, but they are going to fix it today.
Overall I'm happy. I thought they would replace the elastic straps as they are now all stretched out, but they didn't. No big deal though. This time around though I'm going to put some patches in so that I don't get anymore holes. And I'll tint my back window to keep it from being scratched. Otherwise, the top (and the rest of the car) is still the same.
