Default Looks like Utah is in my future...

So looks like school (UofU) is taking me a little more southern from oregon to utah aroun jan - feb. Coming to check out salt lake in September for a week. Anything I should look at for areas to live close to the university? Thanks.

Downtown or Sugarhouse areas are you best bet. They're close to the U and are nice areas.

It also depends quite a bit on what you're looking for. Nice thing about the U is that it is fairly easy to get to from across the valley. Trax (local light rail system) will get you there quickly (and for free as a student) from quite a few areas, which means you can probably choose the area more by the type of neighborhood you want to live in.

Sugarhouse and downtown are good choices though.

Thanks guys, I have a friend out here and we plan on getting a house/town house. I'm pretty excited for a change.
