Default My mods

Well guys, I think i'm gonna go supercharged. There seems to be just too many issues right now with the turbo kits and with the stock baseline settings still unknown I've decided not to risk it as custom making a new bottom end (which would be required) will be just too expensive. If I were going to do the turbo I'd do it right with low. comp pistons/slightly thicker head gasket/custom ECU ($3000...ouch)/not to mention the price of the kit and everything else I need.

At this point I am gonna wait till Vortech releases (if that ever happens) their charger and see how Comptech counters. I've also been asking about Tim's roots blower but have yet to hear any solid info...that is another possibility. I think I'll be able to get the car pretty quick with a combined supercharger/weight savings/and potential final drive swap. I've been talking a lot with my dealer about this and they may even warrenty it for me

So in the end it looks like I won't be the first Utahn to go turbo unless they come up with an acceptable fix for fuel tuning in the next few months.

FIIIIIIEEEEEEUUUUUUWWWWW!!!!

That was the sound of your post going over my head. I'm afraid that I don't understand much of the "under the hood" types of discussion.

In a nutshell the turbo will be too expensive to do right and you are too likely to blow an engine due to lack of fuel management. For a reliable turbo (hell any forced induction) you need to have your fuel tuning very specific....right now that isn't available

Supercharger will be more reliable (with aftercooler) and cheaper overall to do....plus I may still have a warrenty after

So it just comes down to what's better for the wallet and the car.

BTW, how do you like your new clutch setup? I should be due for a new one soon and am looking at your exact mod

thanks I have. I've thought (not very seriously though) about maybe adding a 35-40 wet/dp shot. Hopefully if Tim's roots blower ever makes it out I won't need the nos as that should provide immediate boost

I paid $1726 total ($567 for clutch, $419 for flywheel, $576 labor and $164, $106 for tax and $58 for misc. other stuff). So far it feels great but I have not even gone into VTEC yet since I'm not past the 500 mile break-in period.

More to come soon....
I have been. As you can tell I'm very anxious and excited about this kit A few questions though. What do you plan to use for fuel tuning? And this intercooler you talk about...could this be the free gift for the first 10 buyers
