S2000 Racing
Want to push your S2000 to it's limits without worry about tickets?
I've had my share of fun with the early morning drives
up the canyons ... great fun to be had at 5 to 6am ... but it doesn't compare to the fun I've had since I started driving in the Utah Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) races. Event cost is only $25 ... $15 if you join SCCA ... for a full day of driving fun!
There are usually 50 to 100+ drivers that show up for the events. Lot's of vettes, miatas, civics, preludes ... I've even seen a few saturns, suburus, nissans, mazda station wagons, mustangs, etc ... , but SADLY I've NEVER seen another S2000.
If you're interested, check out http://www.utahscca.com. The next event is this Sunday at the E-Center.
This is the first season I've participated and I'm impressed with the quality of the courses that are set up and the community of folks involved in the local SCCA club.
Get your A$$ off the sofa and come out on Sun!

I raced last year at SCCA, right now my car is getting ready to be painted, so it'll be ahwile before I'm down there again. Another fun place to go is the IVRA events in Wendover. It's more of a drive, but it has long straights and I've gotten my S to 120mph on it. Great fun, and if you want, they have races against other cars too, not just against the clock.
Why are you having your car painted? Not an accident I hope.
I went out to the SCCA test and tune event in Wendover. I got up to 145 at about 7500 rpm in 6th and then backed off. 145 is DAMN loud with the top down!

No, my car just has some scratches and I'm putting on a C-West Body kit and I want the whole thing to match. Plus, I'll get the beautiful Monte Carlo Blue Color instead of my stock black color. As soon as my car is back in my hands, repainted and all, I'll definately come racing. My friends race at the E-Center all the time and occaisonally at the SLCC races.
