Default 2001 inspection

hey guys i just got my 01 s2000 over the border from washington and am about to go for the inspections.. my question is if theres anyone here that has done this that could help me out a little. i know i need day time running lights, but to what degree? do i need just lights that stay on all the time or do i need actual DRL that show up in my dash. also my form says i need "french SRS" airbags... my car has "SRS" airbags but i dunno what the french part is about. just wondering if anyone could give me some advice to what i should be expecting.. and maybe some referels to a great, cheap place to get the work done.

Thanks.

ps the cars a silverstone on black/red inerior

Check with alSpeed2k or his buddy SeekeR1

I am sure either of them will see this thread very soon anyway, but can always PM them

Welcome! I imported mine but I got a broker to take care of everything. I think you need to have the brights at 60% when your HID's are out. Canadian Tire does it I think but some people here probably know better than me.

Hey there holkema87,

AlSpeed2K helped me through the whole process plus mine was a 2008 which evidently didn't require any changes... I guess what I am saying is I do not have answers to your questions about DRLs and "French" SRS

In terms of what I did - I made an appointment with Canadian Tire on 3 Rd; they completed the Federal and Provincial inspections (I paid for the Federal during the Border / Customs import process; but I didn't realize that the Provincial inspection was a separate amount to pay); I received the report back indicating everything passed, then my trusty friend / insurance broker [who also made sure that I had sufficient insurance to drive to the inspection] took the inspection papers and got my S2000 insured! easy Okay, 'easy' for me

AlSpeed2K?...

Here is a previous thread about DRLs for an AP1:

Hope that helps a bit...

^why are you welcoming him for?!?!?! He drove down to the HT meet in Seattle with us in his old BB. He took video's but didn't post them up.

j/k

You actually read the form! I didn't. The DRL just needs to stay on when they are tested, afaik, no indicator light on the dash is needed. The French SRS, I wouldn't worry about it, the guy at CT probably wouldn't know the difference anyways.

DRLs - as long as the headlights (or parking lights, even) are on whenever the car is on, it will pass inspection. One 12v relay wired to switch on the headlights (blue/red wire at the headlight switch harness - negative triggered) and you're golden. Unplug it after the inspection if you'd like. My S2000 and Maxima were done that way, I recently wired MC21's that way and inspection was no problem.

French SRS would be referring to attaching bilingual SRS warning stickers to the car.

Shoot me a message if you need help with wiring.
