Had the same problem with my ap1 and I know exactly what you are talking about , sold it cuz I hated that problem. Got myself an ap2. problem solved lol . Is your ap1 MY 2001?

It's a MY00. However, I think the problem was mainly due to an engine compression issue. After the engine problem was fixed, haven't encountered this issue again.

I live in the country side and drive in the country side. Never more than 2 seconds in first gear ... no problem! ( ... sorry, just kidding ...)

My car had a similar problem bunny-hopping in 1st gear at very low revs without having my foot on the clutch. This cleared up for me with IAC valve clean.
