Hey, new member to the forum here. I'm currently in the market for a used early model ap2 (04/05). I'm just wondering if you guys would ever take a chance on a S2000 from a used car lot? Not the ones from stealership but u know, the little ones like luxor or those surrey ones provided they have full carfax report and stuff? Thanks

As long as everything checks out then why not? Problem with those lots is most (but not all) of those cars have some hidden problems.

If you know cars, and know what to look for, and get it inspected at Honda, then go for it. A lot of the time you can get cars from dealerships like those for a steal too because they usually have more room to bargain.

I agree with ss04..., if you don't know the S2000 very well take it to someone who does. S2S here on the forum is probably one of the better S2000 mechanics in the Vancouver area. I would suggest having him take a look at it.

be advised the s2k they have. has been on their lot close to three years now.

Vinz86 posted some good links. Do not always trust a car fax, they can be missing a lot of info. best to go look at car with a checklist and give it a good once over.

Thanks for all your inputs. And yea, I'm not gonna rush into it as I don't want to regret it weeks after. I used to live in burnaby so I've heard many things about luxor (not so good things) but havn't actually met anyone that dealt with them. But if the s2k's been on their lot for close to 3 years, there must be a reason why so many is passing.

Hey finally got my eyes set on a s2k, now just wondering where to bring it to get a pre-purchase inspection. I see a few guys on this forum recommends S2S and so does my friend so Ill definitely give him a call but is there anyone else closer to vancouver/richmond area
