C.E.L.
Hi.I'm new to the forum, and am hoping someone can help me.We have a 2001 purcased new, with 158000 km's on it .The car is a daily driver having been fully maintained and serviced at Honda.Car runs just like new, with no problems until the check engine light came on.Original dealer could not find problem after several visits,so we ignored it.Time for service and air care, went to a different Honda dealer.Plugs were changed, service performed, everything o.k. till next morning, light comes on again.Back to Honda, they adjust valves, check shows low compression in #1 cylinder.A carbon blast was unsuccessful in bringing up compression, however car runs perfect, light is out,all codes reset,20 minutes later light is on,car fails aircare.Hondas only possible guess is a collapsed ring, but the cars performance wolud not indicate this.[v-tec ok,no smoke etc.]Could it possibly be the coil pack? or a faulty 02 sensor or simulator? Any help would be greatley appreciated Cheers Faymes & Colin.
