Default CR Suspension worth it?

Hey Guys,

Have any of you heard anything good about CR suspension? Is it too stiff to use for the streets? I have an 08 AP2.

5.07 kg/mm front spring rates - 08 AP2
5.33 kg/mm rear spring rates - 08 AP2

7.00 kg/mm front spring rates - CR
6.25 kg/mm rear spring rates - CR

I would get the CR sway bars as well. The only thing that's really throwing me off is that I've been reading that it raises the front a bit, 1/4 inch and lowers the rear 1/8 of an inch. That's kinda weird...

Any thoughts? is it worth the trouble?

Really, only you can decide that.

Have you read this thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=616190&st=0

I went with adjustable coilovers, although there's something to be said for the fact that the CR’s suspension is Honda engineered. And at least you wouldn't have to worry about scraping or fender rubbing if you went with that setup. (Having personally been witness to the concern you showed for your car during the Poker Run, I suspect that's something that would bother you. )

If you plan to track/autoX that car then its prob a nice upgrade from stock. If not then there really isn't much point, just a rougher ride probably. you can jam a big fat 275 hoosier up front with the stiffer springs =).

I agree too stiff. Go with inexpensive coils. At least they are adjustable.

I probably wouldn't bother. What would it cost?

If you want a good upgrade on a budget get some Koni shocks and Ground Control coilovers. You can get them together for ~$1300 here: http://www.ground-control-store.com/produc...p/II=752/CA=167

The shocks are rebound adjustable, and the height is adjustable. You can also choose your own spring rate. The shocks will be A LOT better than any any cheap coilovers from China or Japan.

pearl_s2k - Yup, I read that thread. People were saying that there was quite a difference from stock with an overall increase in handling and almost non-existent body roll. The car just seems more planted. The cons though are stiffness, increase in cabin-rattling and the odd height issue. And you're dead on pearl!!! I do like the fact that it was Honda engineered and there will never ever be fender rubbing!!!! I wouldn't be able to live with myself if that happened lol.

Dave - lol haha, seeeee, nothing wrong with 4x4 status i'll just have to plow into you and see who's car ends up on top

Lhung - i probably won't be auto crossing anytime soon lol... so yea, i probably would be just wasting my money

mavm86 - the price is $1000.00 for the full CR suspension setup. Only 2,300 miles on it. Front and rear CR springs and dampers, bushings and front and rear CR sway bars. i think that's a pretty good deal?

thanks for the input guys
