What does the heat do?

Does it soften the paint or make the metal more pliable?

What happens to the front wheel liner when you roll the fender?

So many questions but I have never done it before and I don't want to screw it up!

If you've never done it, take it to a reputable shop to do it. Once you crack your paint, you are fcked pretty much and the only option is to do some touch up, or repaint, which will be costly.

Problem is a reputable shop will charge an arm and a leg. I know, I called around. It's almost worth it doing it yourself after seeing what other 'hacks' have done. If you mess it up a bit it'll still end up being cheaper having a shop fix it.

And if you are going for an aggressive roll, it's almost guaranteed that you will get some chipping .

heat makes the metal more malleable and the paint less prone to chipping.
