Hmm. Actually if I'm reading this correctly, his jerkiness comes not from the shifting but from the engagement of 2nd gear - when he comes off his clutch.
If you have to come off your clutch slowly to make it smooth, it means you're shifting too slow or too fast. Do something for me - shift to 2nd, and yank your foot off the clutch immediately. Did the revs lurch upward? Then it's because the revs dropped too far before you engaged the next gear. If you time your shifts correctly, you could yank your foot off the clutch instantly, and every single time your shifts will be smooth. Wait too long, and it'll jerk (unless you let off the clutch real slow and it engages gradually.. but this will ruin your clutch real quick). Just the nature of a light flywheel. =)

i noticed the same thing when i bought my s2000. due to the light flywheel, rpms drop very quickly. most other cars have heavy flywheels so you can take your sweet ass time before letting the clutch out.
i guess try shifting faster or if the rpms already dropped too low, blip the throttle before letting the clutch out.
Or just make sure you don't get completely off the gas when you shift so the rpms don't drop that fast.
S2000 is my first manual so I can't say it's hard to drive on as i just learned on it.
I did notice driving a Sentra SpecV that you can drive 5km/h or less without going back into 1st gear. Nice to have some torque some times.
Take your time and you'll get it right.
I heard that cars with extra light flywheels = very easy to stall too?

why would it wear syncros...from what i understand, the car's engine is spinning at ~2500rpms at about 20km/h, by the time he's put his foot into the clutch its already at around 1800rpms, which is what 20km/h is in third. So wouldnt that mean it's rev matched?

Don't listen to everyones yammering. Just hammer the throttle, ignore that the clutch is even there use your jedi light speed shifting and slam it into 2nd gear.
