Well the canadian tire one will probably crap out in about a year or 2, mine started leaking a bit shortly after a year. It works though, and for a 50-60dollar jack, i can't complain...

Anyways

Seems like a pretty good deal, and for the price, i personally think its worth the money, even if it does break in a year or so.

If you want a low profile jack

I have one of these for changing tires at autox events (although it is a Harbor Freight branded one, it is basically the same jack). It is small, light and lifts the car pretty quickly/easily.

For at home in the garage I use one of these:

It feels a lot more solid when lifting the car, and the max height is quite a bit higher. It is quite bit bigger, and heavy as s**t though!

Wow the first one for 70 does seem like a really good deal =).
Im a little worried about the height the jack gives me though... its only 13 inchs and i plan on going under the car.

How high should a car be to be worked on comfortably?

^Make sure you use Jack stands when going under the car! Do not, rely on the floor jack!!!

I had the first one rk604 linked until it broke, and it doesn't really go high enough and is not of great quality. As for how high is optimal, as high as possible is my answer.

Also like alSpeed said, ALWAYS use jackstands before getting under a car.

i think for the lower end jacks, you can't really expect them to last as long. I mean there's probably a reason why they're selling it so cheap. (either they're getting new models in, had problems with them in the past, bringing customers into store or just a cheap product to manufacture
