he sold me a carbon fibre hood that was supposed to be seibon but turns out to be something called "xr8ed lidds" a company that no longer exists... what should i do ?

Where did you find the hood listed for sale? How much did you buy it for? Did you not see it before paying him? How's the quality of the hood?

If the loss is not substantial and the quality is decent, it may not be worthwhile doing anything; otherwise maybe sue him in small claims court?

 

Unfortunately it is buyer beware on such purchases. Not much you can do unless you have documentation of him mis-representing the hood (stating it is one thing and he knows it isn't), but you also have to prove that he knew it wasn't a Seibon either. Very difficult to do. I would threaten to sue him and see if that has any effect.
