Highway to Tofino

Highway to Tofino
I was reminiscing about the summer today when I woke up to find snow. During the summer my friends and I took a trip to Tofino. I remember the last stretch of the highway (I think it's called highway 4?) is super windy with lots of curves and great scenery. Anyone taken the S2000 down that road or any other sports cars there they like to share?

I did that drive at the end of the summer, it was great. I wouldn't rate it as the best road, and when I drove it there was a LOT of construction, however, it was a great drive.

omg are we gonna have some planned drives for 2009?
maybe 1 to the states (taking back country roads = must)
1 to the island
1 to sunshine coast
Maybe make these annual events like the Oregon crew organizes every year.
I have driven to tofino in my camry and was quite surprised with fuel economy.
The last stretch to tofino was uphill and downhill and varied a lot in speed. This killed fuel economy. To make things worse, i didn't have cell reception in the area so if i ran outta gas, I woulda been screwed. (i went during may and only saw 1 car pass by in the whole drive)
I believe the last checkpoint before going through the windy stretch was Port Alberni. I had half a tank and thought I was okay.
Got a bit excited on the gas going through the hills and ended up running low as I reached tofino.
I wouldn't recommend top down driving tho. In a stretch of 30 mins, it would rain and stop raining 5 times.

great! I'll organize that once it gets warmer then. The last little stretch is really windy. We'll pick a day where it's nice so we can all drive top down! Tofino is really small, they're gonna crap their pants when 10 S2000 show up lolol. We'll even have optional over night stay too.

I am on the island and would definitly help. I was thinking of setting something up with a road trip from Vic to Mt Washington up in Comox Valley, if we could get some hotels and a deal on a dinner or something. Wasn't sure how many would want to pay for the ferry trip though...,
