Question about OEM hardtop
Hey, so I finally decided to come back onto this forum.. even though before I wasn't really active, just lurking. haha
So forgive me if this has been asked before but I couldn't really find anything about it.
I was thinking of buying a hardtop lately but I'm not sure if I should buy a new one from hardtopguy or a used one.
I noticed hardtop guy mentions different kits for 200-2001 hardtops. My s2000 is an 04 so my question is if I'm buying
a used hardtop off a someone with a 2000-2001 s2000 will it fit on my car? I'm guessing it won't.

If you post this in modification section, it'll prob get more traffic and you'll receive more answers than in here. Hell you could just email hardtopguy and ask him too.

It will fit, basically, 00-01 s2000 doesn't have the defrost wiring, while 02-09 does, there fore, the kit is a little different. If your buying it off someone, it'll probably fit, if anything, you'll just have to get a new harness or modify it to fit your ap2

The early 00 S2000's used a different latch. The latter ones are beefier, which is what you want. I believe the 00-01 S's were wired for the defrost but you need the button that replaces the mini coin holder in the center console.
The rest of the wiring harness is part of the factory harness behind the plastic that is behind the drivers seat.
