However it should be noted that 99-03 cars were produced in the Takanezawa plant, where Honda only puts its top level workers which also work on the NSX. Whether or not that affects your decision on it's build quality is another thing to think about.
Yes, but true S2000 enthusiasts know that all '04+ cars were in fact built by NINJAS on the top of MOUNT FUJI!

^lol, I almost was able to witness an rk604 spin, luckily he recovered last minute! vanabc shouldn't have too much problem with an AP2V2 though.

everything that everyones said is true.

Ive had my 01 now for about a year now. Ive used it as a DD, managed to drive a little in the snow last year until it decided to take a huge dump.
The handling is actually quite decent in the snow with snow tires. I was completely surprised! I would have kept driving in the snow except my car was wayy too low for the snow.

My top for an 01 has been holding up great! No tears, leaks, or rips! even with an 01!

If you dont mind the tiny trunk space and a somewhat tight cabin space, then youre good to go.

Like others have said, its the most bang for buck in its class.

Luckily i havent had to do any major repairs *knock on wood*, except for just basic oil changes, and a huge tune up when i got the car.
Its be spectacularily reliable!

BUY IT!!!

1. I daily drove the car for five years. It's easy to drive in traffic and fuel economy isn't terrible either. Unless you need a lot of passenger/cargo space I think you will be happy with it.

2. N/A

3. All S2000s are made in Japan and mine has been very reliable for the past six years. I've only had to replace a high beam bulb and that was because I dropped it when I was swapping headlights. My car has been pretty much rattle free too despite the fact that my suspension is 2-3x factory rate and the car seeing some heavy track use over the years.

I considered trading in both of my cars in for an STi last year because of its combination of performance, looks, and utility. After some serious struggle I couldn't do it even if it was going to save me money. I honestly don't find the STi to be fun to drive, and Subarus are real rattle boxes. I know because I own one.

I don't think there is much I could say here that others haven't already said .

DD'd it for 2 years, no leaks (unless I'm spraying water directly at the top of the windows while I'm washing it), very well built

The cars are all made in Japan, where the workers actually give a damn about what they produce. However it should be noted that 99-03 cars were produced in the Takanezawa plant, where Honda only puts its top level workers which also work on the NSX.
First batch of 2004's are made in Takanezawa too!
You can tell from the vin if it has a T.
If it's made in Suzuka, then it has a S in the vin.
