Default Should I get a hardtop?

My plastic soft top is ripped, and has been screwed up ever since I got my car. It doesn't close properly and has lots of wind noise even with the hardtop striker.

I am thinking if I should get a Mugen Style Dry carbon hardtop, and if I do I would remove the soft top completely and bolt the hardtop down permanently.

Pro:
Hardtop looks good
weight saving (Hardtop itself is less then 20lb. Soft top + motor weights at least 60+lb)
aerodynamic
the rear wing will finally be useful
reduce interior noise

Con:
$$$$$
No more convertible

So what are your opinions?

considering the build of your car in my opinion a HT would make sense... but wouldn't you miss top down? i say save the HT for the very last finishing touch

Although I voted yes (cuz I love the way the mugen tops look), personally I would miss the topdown. For me it would have to be removeable..., a winch setup in the garage or something where the top could be lifted off.

Since you have a daily driver I think you should get a HT only if you are planning to track with it. Otherwise, I agree with Dave, I think it does look nice, but I'd keep it removable!

I say hardtop, but a hardtop isn't 20lbs... even carbon fiber ones aren't that light. Theres a new carbon OEM top thats just came out and it weighs 25 lbs i believe.

Anyway, for tracking and overall looks i would say hardtop. When you go cruising you can just get a buddy to come to ur place and help you it off.

bad thing is its stupidly expensive... =(

any plans to get a harddog roll bar?
