sound proofing the S2000
While searching for a scratch remover for my PSP and phone
Side story: I found the Novus products #1,#2 and #3 that ppl rave about on the net and have gotten reviews about removing scratches. Nobody posts they actually leave micro-scratches that look like swirl marks!
They might work on lenses of cars but upon close scrutiny, they will be seen on phones and other devices (LIKE NEW SONY PSPs!).
USE A SCREEN PROTECTOR AND NOT SCRATCH REMOVERS!)
ANYWAYS,
if you ppl have been following a sound proofing thread out there on S2ki ( https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...80&hl=quietcoat ) You might've heard about a product called Quietcoat, which you apply to the trunk space and under the interior carpet to reduce road noise and loud booming exhaust noises/droning (ie. Spoon N1).
I found a local source of a simlar product that you can use, instead of ordering the $80/quart (USD) from some guy and paying for shipping. It's at this place called Industrial Plastics and Paint ( http://www.ippnet.com/index_nontree.php ). There was a sample of sheet metal both covered and not covered in this sound absorbing stuff and it worked really well!.
How it compares to Quietcoat, I don't know know, but it's a comparable price and sold locally.
I'm goign to try some as soon as I get the time to apply it, but this is just really a FYI for ppl that have a loud exhust, but want to keep it and reduce noise at the same time (weird, but it's what i want) or for those that just want to reduce road noise of the vehicle so you can hear music with the top down in the frost vanvcouver weather....
i digress...
