Thumbs up Today's weather SAFE for top down?

hey guys and gals - I know similar questions/debates must have come up before but I want to see your take on whether it should be safe TODAY to drop the soft top?

It looks sooo dang nice and sunny outside but I am sure the temp is still < 10, will it be safe to open my soft top for a short mid-day drive under the sun? My car has been out in the elements since 7am and parked outside since 8am somewhat in the shades...

I am so tempted to take a open-air drive around lunch time but don't want to rip my top...

Input please

it shouldnt be a problem, but just incase why dont you run the heat for a few minutes before putting the top down, that way the top gets warmed up

and yea since you dont have a plastic window, less worries

I remmeber seeing people saying that when it is below 14C then it is not a good idea to open your top.

14C ?!!?? I think our manual says 10C and the MX-5 (had a NB) manual says the same... but I like Chow-bot's idea to run the heat to warm up the top a bit first. Hmm... and now my car is in the sun light, I think I am going to go for it in a bit

Any more feedback please keep them coming

I don't think 02+ with glass rear should have any problem. Plastic is known to crack easily.
