I've put the top down in -5 degree temperatures (quite a few times last year), I just crank the heat for a while first and make sure the top is warmed up

I chickened out and kept the top up
hey ss04 (Cam right? Never met haha) - reading your "Arsenal"... I have one of the lens you got too (the 18-200 "walk around" one) and one similar (50mm F1.4D [G1 I guess]) but with just one D50 and I don't take pictures anywhere as good as you do! Oh and your two other F2.8 must rock!!!

Go top down next time. It's refreshing in cold crisp air.
The 18-200 is a great all-around lens. I love it, but it's too slow in low light. That's where the 2.8's and 1.4 come in handy .

Ed, If your car has been sitting outside in the sun, you can open the top with no problems!
