they put a stick (broomstick as an example) extending from the top of the rollbar to the A-pillar frame. If your head is under this, you are fine. If not, then your head will land first in a rollover, and we all wouldnt want to see that.

As has been discussed, the cusco roll bar is more of a show piece. What makes a roll bar SCCA/Solo legal is diameter/gage of the pipe and size of the feet which have to be welded. I currently have a hard dog SOLO 1 roll bar installed in my car and there is a large difference between it and a cusco bar.

If you are just looking to go out on track I believe all local clubs allow the stock roll hoops. But anything involving Solo 1 or higher requires a serious bar.

Oh really, Because a reputable shop here in vancouver told me it was nasa aproved.
What is the name of the reputable shop? pretty sure it's not approved. You ever talk to Ben at AJR or Justin at Gearheads, maybe they can give u some insight. Rk604 had a sickass roll cage in his eg6 go talk to him, he might be able to help.

Very good. However, most people rrunning the harddog bar strips out the rear interior. Cutting the panels to fit around the bar is a serious pain in the arse.
