I think O2 Simmulator uses to match the b4 and after cat O2 sensors' readings for OBD2 ECU. It fakes the ECU for any fault reading after the cat. People use them if they remove the cat.

but if in this case only the exhaust is changed, it's not needed. It shouldn't cause any fault code either, b/c exhaust is behind the sensors...

hey guys thx for the replies.
i'm not exactly sure why my check engine light is on. I just know that i remove the cat and the store that help me install it said i'll need a o2 simmulator (could be sensor, maybe i heard wrong) or else my engine light will stay on. If i unplug the battery, the car is good for about 20km, then the engine light is back on.
Anyone have any suggestions what to do or how i can get the problem resolved?
I'm totally lost, and its quite annoying that the engine light is on bcuz i heard when the light is on, the engine is in limp mode???

his car is 03, so he won't need to do air care until 2005.

just install the cat back for 1 day for air care then remove it again. shouldn't cause u more than $100.
