Smile Where to do soft top patching?

Long story short, it hasn't been even 3 weeks since I moved into Vancouver and the first night I went out to downtown with some friends I decided to park in one of those parking buildings. This morning as I was driving, I realized my top had a small cut. I was wondering if this is a common occurrence in BC, and also if any of you knew of where to get it patched for a good price.

FYI I did have an alarm, which is probably why they didn't go farther than that.

umm...you can try using silicone for a cut that small....let it cure though. As regards to patching..they just have a small piece that they glue from the inside?...or how does patching work

At a fabric store (or even WalMart) you can buy patches that iron on. IIRC though, someone on this board had there's stitched up. I don't remember which member.

Thanks guys. Do you know what those patches are called (or anything you might remember, what section of the store they were in, etc)?

I might just do that. That cut is driving me nuts!!!

Patches I guess, I bought some from WalMart in the fabric section. Hmm, I think the closest WalMart to you is in East Vancouver on Grandview Hwy. But I've only been to that one once and so I'm not sure if they have a fabric section. I'm sure you could buy the patch from any fabric store though.

Damn, the S2ki search function is not working, I know there's a picture on here somewhere. Doing a quick Google search though I found some links to ideas from Miata.net though. http://socalm.proboards.com/index.cgi?boar...splay&thread=50

i just went down to a place on 5th ave, between cambie and main... they do soft tops there...

i had a tiny tear once.. they fixed it for free... just put a patch on the inside and used some glue... the guy just walked out and did it for free... took him all of 2 mins...

maybe less.. but at most they'll charge you like 10-20 bux..

Went to Walmart tonight but couldn't find that fabric patch. Probably because it didn't have a crafts section.

Ttang can you give me the name of the place?

Take it to a shop for a professional fix. I wouldn't trust any kind of patch sold at Wal Mart would be suitable.
