soft top fabric is not very pliable when cold so that's why it sometimes doesn't open fully. Happens to me too. And as for the sliding, maybe you have something in the space where your top goes into or maybe in your spare tire area.

There is actually a warning in your manual about this.. pg 61 if you wanna get all technical about it... it says "Do not operate the convertible top in freeing weather. You can damage the material and the mechanism." just so u know.. might not be the greatest idea to force it down during the winter...

Do not use your soft top unless you have warmed it up!!!!! Read the manual!!! The top in not pliable in colder weather. If you do not want to crack the top, you need to keep it in a heated garage or heat the top up fully before you try and put it down. Some people actually ues a hair dryer to warm it up (or you can try running the heat on full for a fairly long time). If you hear the top creaking and cracking when you try and move it, it is too cold.

I keep my top down all winter. I have a hard top and a pully system for easily taking it on and off so I can avoid the risks of raising and lower the top in colder weather.

I had the same problem, even in the summer, the top doesnt seems to want to go all the way down without help.

But mine has a cut in the top from rubbing, getting a new soft top next week, hopefully it opens all the ways with ease now.

There is an adjustment for that problem. I think there might have even been a TSB on that issue. When I first got the car I had to take it in and they adjusted it...
