Default Wing Question

Something I have wondered..., if a wing creates downforce, why does it cause the trunk to lift? I have noticed this on almost all wings?

Well where the mounts are on the trunk, I have noticed that the trunks kind of warp upwards. I have not seen a wing mounted where the trunk sits flush. I could be wrong and maybe just haven't seen enough wings but the ones I have seen tend to warp the truck slightly.

If I am reading this correctly, then I think what you refer to as lift and the torque being applied to the trunk via the rear wing. Most wings are angled with the back of the wing tilted upwards to get more downforce at lower speeds. This is causing the rear of the wing to push down more than the front and this the front of the wing mounts being pulled up.

Ha lol ..., my bad for misleading impressions..., :-)

Thanks for the answer though. In short the force is greater at the rear of the wing so it pulls up slightly.

Lol, my guess would've been that it's not angled properly.

Well that is what I wondered but I have now seen 4 or 5 close up and I see the same issue on everyone. The trunk has kind of bowed out of alignemnt where the wing is. I have not seen a CF hood yet so don't know if they have the same problem.
