You know you are getting old when...
I am afraid I am going to go on a little rant. Over the past year our forum has become increasingly commercial in nature. I have noticed that FS posts seem to have taken over the community. While I understand that this is a valued aspect of the site for some, I think we at least need to follow a few rules as a courtesy to all.
Please do not post your FS items multiple times. You don't need to put up a new thread up every time you lower the price. If you want to change the price, edit your post. I will remove multiple posts.
Second, when your items are sold, please keep us updated (edit your post) and when everything is sold, please lock your post so people don't waste their time looking at stuff that is no longer available.
Finally, If you post a WTB post, please lock the thread when you have managed to get what you are looking for.
It seems to me that some people are using the forum as their own personal retail outlet. If you are regularly selling items, you should buy a membership or, better yet, become a site sponsor. The concept of letting guests sell items was always a questionable move, and if the trend continues I will explore shutting it down.
I long for the days when we would meet each other for coffee and get to know each other. I think it is telling that virtually nobody from Vancouver is coming to our meet in July. Even more frustrating is that more people are coming from Calgary, Seattle and Portland respectively than from Vancouver...
Here is my theory... Before, when we wanted to sell each other stuff we had to go out to meets and have some face-to-face time. It was a lot of fun! Now, we can just sit at our computers and sell sell sell...

I understand why you are upset Sean. The Vancouver section just doesn't have a "community" feeling compared to the other sectors of the website. I have been at the Toronto forums lately because their members are very active. Hopefully things will liven up.
I too, spend much time in the Toronto Forum, they are very active in their postings (like the Vancouver used to be... I don't know why it died off, but I feel you when you say that you miss the "old days").
I also lurk there because they have a huge F1 following, and I am a big fan.
I guess it's hard for me to complain though, I don't even live in Vancouver, and haven't been to a meet... but I certainly do consider it my Local Forum

hi Sean, I really miss the local Vancouver meet.what happen to everyone??
sometimes whenI watch the video that my brother took from the last meet, I keep thinking what are we gonna do this year.
since we gonna have a big meet on July 8th, Shall we have a pre meet sometime next week, so at least we can get to meet some new faces in the loca Vancouver members? ( or BC members)

Sean, we've put out "rules" in our forum as well to deal with this sort of thing. If it helps at all, have a look at what we've got stickied at the top of our forum:

I think the problem in Vancouver is the crowd is too young. They rather hang out with the Revscene folks - that's where all the hotties are so you can't really blame them
. All the money they spent on mods do not get them the wow factor from a S2K gathering as they would at a Revscene meet. I'll stop before I go into a rant
I sort of have a downtown S2000 meet once a week. I regularly get together with a few of the S guys in downtown for lunch. Most of them are on this board as lurkers. You guys are all welcome to join us if you're in the area.

Well, this is inspiring, at least others have similar feelings. As for being too young, Dixon seemed to fit in just fine with us "old farts", and he was just a youngin'.
