Are you topless this week?
I saw 3 topless Miatas and 2 Solstice on my way in this morning. They're more wrapped up than your average Eskimo! I envy their enthusiasm though, they sure have a lot more balls than me.
Topless no, T-shirt yes.
Joking aside, I remember the year I worked on-site for 3 months in the winter. In between I got to fly all the way back from Switzerland for a few days, my hands got so itchy so I took my miata out topless in near-zero weather. I came across a friend of mine at the gas station and he must've been thinking why the hell was I driving topless with a big chunky down-jacket in that weather.

You guys should be really careful about putting the top up and down in your current temperatures. I see that even during your warmest days, you are still in the single digits. Those of you who have the glass rear window may think you are safe, but your soft top is still plastic. Depending upon the windchill factor, humidity, you can still be cold enough that repeated operation of your top can weaken the stressed areas of the top and in time, a stretch or tear can develop. A moment of exuberance can slam your pocket book real good. If you must operate the top, do it in as warm a temp as possible and consider doing it in stages to give the plastic a chance to "catch up" before folding or unfolding some more.

Last year around this time I took off my hardtop and proceeded to raise my top. I stopped immediately when I heard some crackling. I used a hair dryer at a very low temperature setting and started blowing from a distance. After about 10 minutes the top came up nice and smooth. I don't know if applying heat to the canvas is a good idea or not but it definitely worked for me.

You did good. If it wasn't too cold, you could have just lifted the top in stages. Lift it a foot or so, stop, wait 10 to 15 seconds, repeat till it's all the way. Sure, this is inconvenient, but if you really must use the top, it's far better than having to buy a new one every couple of years.
Keep in mind that Honda will NOT warranty this since it's clearly stated in your owner's manual to not operate the top "near freezing temps" and this does not mean only near ZERO. Take wind chill and moisture and you can be at freezing temps well above ZERO. Honda won't help you.
