Looking forward to this Sat. I didn't go karting last week because of the rain.

So just meet at the track? Can go for a coffee anytime.

Dave, Poker Run is a maybe, my schedule is all over the place. I don't want to commit and then back out later.

I think I'm gonna come along. I don't have a helmet so if anyone has a spare can you bring it along? If not let me know and I will go out and buy something. Why don't we meet up at the Tim Hortons at Save On Foods shopping center? Rich you pick the time.

Wally be good to see you again. We can talk about the Poker Run then.

Dave,

I don't have a spare helmet, but you can usually find one to borrow fairly easily.

If you do decide to buy a helmet (but I wouldn't at this point), make sure that it is SNELL M2005 or higher approved. It will have a label like this on the inside of the helmet (under the liner):

As for meeting up, how does 7:30 at Timmies sound? I'd like to leave there by 7:45 at the latest so we can be at the track just after 8.

Wally,

I'd recommend that you get to the track as close to 8 as possible, if you don't decide to meet with us first. Since it is your first event you'll have a couple of forms to fill out and you'll want to walk the track as many times as possible.

QUESTION:

Can I autoX with my Rotax 2 stroke 125 cc 28.5 HP go kart? It's got 4 wheels and is just a little smaller than some of the cars, lol. It can go over 100 KPH down the straight away. And oh the handling.

If not, why not?

Thanks.

Hey Wally,

There was a big push recently from some guys back east to get the rules amended to allow karts to compete (they are allowed to compete in the US). As of right now, they are not permitted due to insurance issues. Hopefully this will be resolved by 2011 (fingers crossed!)

Cool.

I am looking forward to pushing the S2000. Have had it since brand new in 2002 and know it like the back of my hand. It reminds me of my go kart in a lot of ways.

My main worry is memorizing the track. Too many cones, lol.

lol, sorry no hitch hikers... weight slows the car down, sorry hehe...gonna make sure my tank is near empty too

why don't you just take your car out? you don't have to be the fastest guy out there...it's all about bettering your own personal driving skills and trying to improve on mistakes...it will also show differences in the S2000 build up parts and let us know what works and doesn't performance wise.

i dont have a spare...you can get some pretty cheap these days...call the track and see if they have something kicking around
