WTB RICKS HEADER
AP1 and AP2 are chassis designation codes given by Honda, the manufacturer. You have heard of EG6, EK9, NA1, NA2, those are also Chassis Designation Codes given by Honda to some of their cars.. Believe it or not, even your mom's 1991 Ford Aerostar has a CDC also.. hahahahaha
An AP1 S2000 is a model year '00-'03 car, and an AP2 S2000 is for the current model years '04-'08...
Sometimes an auto manufacturer such as Honda, when they start another CDC for another model year run of a car, it doesn't neccesarily have to be a change to the chassis itself - It could also very well be a rather extensive updated parts listing on other portions of the car... IE; 2.0l engine to 2.2l engine, new transmission, new driveshaft, differential, suspension parts, wheels/tires, exhaust, body, interior components... etc.. Bascially Auto Mfgr's designate a new CDC to a car, when there are enough changes between model years, that they deem it neccesary to refer to the chassis as a different entity.
Long story short... AP1 = first gen s2000, AP2 = second gen s2000
And with regards to the exhaust manifold (header)... if your exhaust is opened up TOO much, ie; more free-flowing header, larger diameter exhaust piping from header to atmosphere, you are more likely to have a power loss than any gain... because with power and torque being freed up from your engine, exhaust backpressure must still be present. If you are just added an aftermarket header to your s2000 and stock exhaust, or even a moderate aftermarket exhaust upgrade, more than likely you will have a small, incremental power incease.. whether it is 1hp or 10hp.... it all depends..
My own experiences have over 17rwhp gained from just my header, test pipe, and a full exhaust setup. Unfortunately, I had installed everything at once, and dynoed my S2k afterwards, therefore I couldn't get numbers from what I gained with each mod.
You would really have to go with a stupid-large-diameter exhaust setup on your s2000 to really lose power, or just a poorly designed one.. Which, don't get me wrong.. there are plenty of GREAT power-adder exhausts for S2000's out there, but there is also a good share of some 'look-good, sound-good, go-slow' exhausts out there as well... just be weary when your on the market for your performance upgrades.. Do some research on here, use the search function, make a new post.. whatever.. We are ALL here to help you out man!!
Hope this answer wasn't too long for ya, but I'm also hoping it helped you out some as well
Take care for now,
Tylor

yeah it helped bro but it still left me with another question....may i ask what exhaust set up you have right now...i have the invidia test pipe and cat back exhaust 70mm you have any sugg on what header to go with from that info bro???
well i narrowed it down to two bro im going with either berks or mugen as for their are no gains with ricks, for ap2........ and berks provides ceramic coating to replace heat sheild and mugen allows heat shield
