So, going to 18s, I don't see a point unless i'm going to run a wheel at 10.5" wide or wider, and no point unless i'm going to run a 265 or wider.

Tires that I'm eyeing
- 265/35/r18 - Kuhmo v730 / Falken RT660 / Nankang CRS
- 285/30/r18 - Falken RT660 / Nankang CRS

There are plenty of 265 options, no so much in 285. And 275 options are all too tall. I've run a talk 245/45/r17 before and while it was decently fast for the rule set I was trying to accommodate, I didn't like the way it felt.

Interesting to note regarding 18x10.5 - it's what the Gridlife GLTC ASM-S2000s are running in a W2W setting. They're all full racecar and willing to cut up their cars, so they're running a Konig Hypergram 18x10.5 +25 and stretching a 255 tire on it. They state that it makes all the difference being on a 10.5" wheel - otherwise, why not just run a 255 on a 17x10 and save some money on tires with a better fitting wheel.

Added weights I could find from the manufacturers websites for the listed wheels where possible.

I am with you on this 100%. 265 square is my target. Almost have to go out to 295/30 since 275 is too tall and 285 isn't that common.

T7 makes the TR10 in 18x10+50 for FD fitment. My buddy has a set and runs 285 all around for his FD. Appears that they have some back spacing issues against their rear multi link setup which necessitates the 10 inch width. The rear has plenty of room for lower offset and wider wheels but the front starts getting a bit tight when you're trying to fit 285. I bring it up because you could probably run this fitment on our cars with 265s and upper control arm adjusters for extra front clearance. I imagine it should fit ok in the back since clearance should be similar to 255+45

Something makes me feel that a 265 on a 10" wheel isn't enough of an improvement. I want a 10.5" wheel, which is likely the limit for a stock body/fender S2k.
I might try ordering a set of BSPK custom wheels next year. They have reasonable pricing and look like they'll be more durable than Forgestar.
Between wheels/tires, extended studs for the front (already did the rear), spacers, and a more aggressive front fender role, i'm estimating i'll need to minimally set aside $5k for this endeavor.

Tirerack had a very good test showing how wheel width makes a huge difference even on the same size tire. They did two separate tests.
On 17" rims (RPF-1s. LOL), they tested:

225 on 8" and 9" rims
245 on 8" and 9" rims
Second follow up refined test.

And the first video.
They did
215 on 7" / 8" / 9" rims
225 on 7" / 8" / 9" rims
245 on 7" / 8" / 9" rims

Survey filled out. I’d also like a wider 18” wheel option. I want as much traction as possible. How about an option for a wider wheel that fits +30mm front fenders and widened rear fenders (rear Voltex flares for instance).

While we rarely run concurrent surveys, if some of you have seen our Instagram recently I'm sure you can see where this is going.

After Josh, one of our Senior Product Engineers installed a widebody kit on his race car project, he had to design a custom set of wheels to fit his extreme application. Originally a one off project, when he showed the team what he created, we were floored. And our community was too when we shared a picture on Instagram and Facebook.
We’ve made it an official project, but to make this wheel a reality, we need you to decide on some of the details by taking our survey.

Any additional feedback in this thread would be great! Curious to see if this is a wheel design the more hardcore track crowd would get behind as most of our interest as been from the more street oriented enthusiast.

Reiterating. The ML 10 or SM 10rs in 17x10.5 +40 for the wide body s2000s community would be a great option!!

I'm not a huge fan of the design but what is the weight and rigidity of the ML-10 vs the SM10RS?

Just purchased a set of forged VS-5RS 17x9 +61 in Satin Bronze. Really impressed with your product. Looking to purchase a set for my CTR in the near future.
