Default '07 vs '08 rims

Does the tire pressure sensor work with different model year?

I heard you have to go to the dealer and have them rescan the computer .

08 and 09 have TPMS units built in. 00 to 07 do not. Shouldn't have to go to dealer to have them rescan if you don't have the unit.

There are TPMS units in the AP2V3 wheels (08 and 09) that work with the TPMS units bulit into the car I'm guessing. On my 08 gauge cluster TPMS light goes on if there is a problem with the unit itself or if it's not working correctly. I believe the (!) light goes on if I am low on tire pressure.

I think the US had a nationwide law that implemented the TPMS in 2008. Probably first introduced in 2005?

the law was passed in 2005 but it gave 3 years before it went into effect (2008)so that Car companies could develop the technology and implement it into all of their vehicles. The S2000 was probably last on Honda's list because it was such a low volume car and was about to be discontinued

Transferring the TPMS sensors from 2008 S2000 wheels to 2007 S2000 wheels is not a problem. If the sensors are installed properly, you shouldn't need to reset your vehicle's ECU either. Your location says Los Angeles. If you're in the area and you need your sensors serviced, transferred or you need your ECU reprogrammed to recognize a new set of sensors, I have all the top of the line tools to help you out with that too (the same tools your Honda dealership uses).

All model year 2008+ vehicles were/are required to have TPMS sensors. TPMS has been around for a while. I know that Chevrolet was using them in Corvettes in the 1990's.

TPMS as a legal requirement came about after the Ford Explorer / Firestone fiasco from a few years back.
