Default 15 inch rims?

Hi..sorry if this is a repost...the search function won't let me enter "15" and google was no help.
...I was wondering if it is possible to run 15" or will this cause clearance issue with the brakes? (offset will be lower...maybe 40 since this is just for commuting)...just planning to run 15 in the front...too many rail roads and too many dented rims on the way to work. ...gotta learn to slow down or get a 4x4
thanx for the 411!

They won't clear the brakes. I think you got it right, just slow down over the tracks.
