Your front offsets are too low to run dropped and your rear wheels (and offsets) are too narrow to run anything close to a 255. 7" is just too narrow a rear wheel for this car. Also running 215/40/17 and 255/40/17 is a bad idea due to the difference in O.D. between front and rear.

Sorry.

PS Have you even tried reading the sticky at the top of the wheel and tire forums?

I would not recommend 35 series tires on 17s. That will look kinda silly, possibly freak out your ABS system, and more than likely not prevent your rubbing issues. The width of the tires, combined with offset of the wheels, has more to do with rubbing than anything else.
I honestly would suggest new wheels. A truly staggered wheel setup will benefit you more overall, and make it easier to find the right sized tires. I wouldn't dare suggest a tire as wide as 255mm on a 7" wheel.

If it were me I'd look for a set of 17" wheels with widths and offsets pretty close to stock. Then you could run 215/245 or 225/255 with no issues with a 1" drop.
